(hałda Skalny, Łaziska, rejon Katowic, Górny Śląsk, Polska)
An already recultivated, burnt coal-dump. Hypergenic, fumarolic (so-called para- or pseudofumarolic) (mainly) and high-temperature mineral associations were observed. Some "minerals" may be of "technogenic" or anthropogenic origin.
Unknowns (likely artifacts) include Cd- and Cl- rich needle-like crystals, a Cd-Sn sulphate and Cu-(Zn)-Fe-W oxide (or a tungstate). The researches of "Skalny" dump were performed in connection with Mag. Thesis (unpublished) on Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Petrology, Faculty of Geology, Warsaw University, Poland (www.geo.uw.edu.pl).
