Highest part of the Carpathians, with Gerlachovský štít as the highest mountain (2655 m AMSL).

A find of mafic apatite-rich ultrapotassic melasyenite (mesoladogalite) enclave in granite, on W slopes of the mountain, in the Batizovska Valley.
