Dunham, for some reason, includes this mine in the Nent valley area, although it is situated on the West bank of the Tyne north of Garrigill.

There are two levels accessible, both accessing the same small area of flats in the Tyne Bottom Limestone. Popular with both collectors and outdoor 'adventure' groups.

The Pennine Way long distance footpath runs across the fairly extensive dumps.
