Milltown quarry is a small disused quarry, which was open for limestone extraction. It is crossed by a number of mineralised veins (or rakes), mostly fluorite/calcite. Some have in the past been worked for galena, and fluorite. The name dose not appear on OS maps until 1900, befor this date it is just noted as old quarry (1880).
Most of the unusual minerals were collected from a small area in the floor of the major Blackwells vein (which is now under 2 m of fluorspar slurry).
