Whilst Hamilton Jenkin (1974) notes that a Beer Ferris Mine [now Bere Ferrers on current maps] was advertising for "20 good lusty hands" in 1781' and in 1795 it was announced that 76000 ounces of silver and 1400 tons of lead ore had been returned in the previous seven years, realising £45000, he also states within his "notes & sources" that "it is not known definitely which of the Bere Alston group of mines is referred to under this name", i.e., it simply refers to one of several mines near Beer Ferris.
There do not appear to be references to a specificly located Beer Ferris Mine elsewhere and it appears likely that no mine of this name existed.
