Crestmore, Riverside Co., California, USA

The town of Crestmore is famous for the extensive list of minerals that occur there, as quarried and mined in the several quarries located oinb two local hills, The Chino Hill and the Sky Blue Hill.

The Crestmore quarries operated until 1986. Many hundreds of thousands of tons of rock were removed from them during the 1940's, much was removed earlier, and also later. Operations ceased when water flow resulted in prohibitively high pumping costs.

A list of references is provided under the locality file for the Crestmore Quarries, and under each separate quarry or mine file.
