Hydrothermal Cu deposit. The individual ore bodies are hosted along the Ludian syncline in the contact zone between Emeishan flood basalts and overlying Upper Permian coal-bearing clastic rocks of the Xuanwei formation. The area extends from Yanhe to northeast of Ludian and includes occurrences at Dadi, Laoyingyan, Longjinggou, and Sujiaqing. There also are numerous ancient mines in this area.
