Barrasford Quarry, Hexham, Northumberland, England, UK

Roadstone quarry operated by Tarmac on the outcrop of the Whin Sill, also produces some Oxford Limestone.
Mineralisation occurs in amygdales within the whin and also as small mineral veins. The veins are of two types quartz/calcite veins, some stevensite has been found in this situation and also as strings containing sulphides in a quartz/calcite gangue.
Vesuvianite has been found in the limestone at the contact with the whin.
