Tawmaw (Tawhmaw; Taw Maw), Myitkyina-Mogaung District, Kachin State, Burma (Myanmar)

Jade locality 120 kilometers northwest of Mogaung.
Transformation zone environment of an ophiolitic complex.
Amphibolites and chloritites at the contact between albitite (plagiogranite) vein (with chromite xenocrystals) and a serpentinite host-rock.
The albitite transformed to jadeitite.
Amphibolites formed by metasomatic reaction during HP/LT metamorphism (hydrous low-T eclogite facies or blue schist facies) (subduction).
Host rocks are magnetite chloritoschists, glaucophane schists and actinolitic schists.
