Manganese deposit, Ilfeld, Nordhausen, Harz Mts, Thuringia, Germany

(Manganlagerstätte, Ilfeld, Nordhausen, Harz, Thüringen, Deutschland)

Famous classic Mn deposit which produced excellent manganite and pyrolusite (best specimens in old collections).
Located in the southeastern Harz mountains, about 8 km north of Nordhausen.

Note: Protected area - collecting is strictly forbidden.
