Sutcliffe Vein, Rogerley Mine, Frosterley, Weardale, North Pennines, Co. Durham, England, UK

A set of mineralized cross-veins, trending roughly east-west, which are exposed in the workings of the western extension of the Rogerley quarry. This vein system is named the "Sutcliffe Vein" in honor of Mick Sutcliffe, one of the original discoverers of the Rogerley Mine. Though no formal mine has been established on the exposure, some good quality specimens were collected by Lindsay Greenbank and Mick Sutcliffe in the early 1970s.
