Amarilla Mine, Cerro Blanco district, Copiapó Province, Atacama Region, Chile

(Mina Amarilla)

The Amarilla mine was probably the major and the deepest adit in the district (550 m depth). In the past it yielded many millions of pesos in copper ore.

Interestingly this and other mines produced among of finest bismuthinite and emplectite crystals worldwide.
