Kvanefjeld tunnel, Kvanefjeld Uranium deposit, Kuannersuit (Kvanefjeld) plateau, Ilimaussaq complex, Narsaq, Kitaa (West Greenland) Province, Greenland

The tunnel on the southern slope of Kvanefjeld was made for exploration of uraniferous steenstrupine-(Ce). It was driven in 1979 and 1980.

    Habit: Ruler-shaped crystals up to 3,0 x 0,4 x 0,04 mm. tabular on {100} and elongated parallell to [001]
    Colour: colorless, transparent
    Description: Found in dissolution cavities in lujavrite ( = a arfvedsonite- nepehline syenite) and in the lujavrite itself.
