El Molino, Cerro Huañaquino, Potosí Department, Bolivia

El Molino is a village at the foot of Cerro Huanaquino. The name "El Molino", and the misnomer "Molino mine", have appeared on labels for the apatite and magnetite specimens from Cerro Huañaquino (qv).

The only items of geological interest from El Molino itself are fossils of the Cretaceous Miraflores Formation, including the stromatolite produced commercially for lapidary uses.

The river here is full of dredge tailings from large-scale placer operations for alluvial cassiterite washed down from Cerro Rico.
