Mogul Mine (Garryard), Silvermines District, Co. Tipperary, Ireland

Large zinc-lead mine worked from shafts, now abandoned (closed 1982) and flooded.
The mine achieved international fame due to the hundreds of fabulous specimens of honey blende sphalerite and mirror bright galena crystals recovered predominately from the 2-W-6 vug nicknamed the ''Great Vug'' which was discovered in the hangingwall of the main Upper G orebody.

At present (2009) the minesite is operating as a steel fabrication business so trespassing is strongly unadvised especially considering all the specimens are long gone (including drill cores).
