Ioi Mine, Shiga Prefecture, Kinki Region, Honshu Island, Japan

Metamorphosed sedimentary manganese ores, parallel to bedding in Paleozoic meta-chert. A granitic batholith outcrops 3 km east of the mine, and may be related to the regional metamorphism.
