(Alakamisy-Itenina, Departementa Ivohibato Alakamisy-Itenina, Faritra Matsiatra, Faritany Fianarantsoa, Madagasikara)
Famous for polychromatic gem tourmalines found in a rice field that is situated in an ancient riverbed. A horizon covered by a 20 m thick layer of younger material has been the source of rounded tourmaline pieces up to 20 cm in diameter. Many of these were cut into very nice many-coloured slabs.
The locality is also referred to as a "Ricefield in the Fianarantsoa district".
The name Lacamisinten is a mispelling and the name is used by gem dealers. When the locality name “Alakamsiy-Itenina” is spoken out loud in the local dialect of the malagasy language, it could sounds like “Lacamisinten” in the ears of non-malagasy people.
