Yakau Mine (Yakau-Humakrom-Asani Manganese concession), Yakau, Western Region, Ghana
Ref.: Rocks & Min.: 23:32; Bureau of Mines Mineral Trade Notes (Aug 1947). An open cut manganese mine opened in 1941 and closed March, 1946. Located at Yakau about 1¼ miles from Asani and about 4 miles NW of Dixcove. Produced 9,000 tons of ore (1941-1046).
