Following the reorganisation of 1996, the Unitary Authorities of Neath Port Talbot and Swansea were formed from the administrative county of West Glamorgan.
West Glamorgan was only formed during the 1974 administrative reorganisation and was itself a sub-division of the traditional county of Glamorgam that dates back to the middle ages.
Specimens from the locations listed here may therefore be labelled as Neath-Port Talbot, West Glamorgan or Glamorgan depending upon the period that they were collected.
