A surface tungsten claim/prospect with surface workings, located in the SW ¼ sec. 4, T.29N., R.18W. Coordinate seconds provided are approximate per USGS T&R map interpolation. Operated 1954-1955.
Geology: Layered amphibolite & biotite schist. Some quartz-carbonate-pyrite-albite (?) veinlets to 8 cm thick. A skarn-like amphibolite associated with quartz pods or stringers as much as 18 cm thick. Pegmatoid gneiss also occurs in cross-cutting dike as much as 8 cm thick which strikes N.30ºW. & dips 25º SW.
Ore concentrations occur where vertical fractures striking N.85ºE. intersect in the veinlet, which strikes N.80ºW. and dps 30ºSW, with a vertical joint set, N.5ºE.
Workings include a small prospect pit 1 meter deep and a main open trench 6 meters in diameter.
