Danbury, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, USA

Shepard (1939) gives the type locality of danburite as a loose boulder "near the manufactory of Col. White". The actual site has been destroyed by development. A high-rise building sits on the site. It is possible that the original boulder may even not have been in situ, and might have been a glacial erratic.
