Prior designation of this locality as "Long Island, Nassau Co." was incorrect. Nassau Co., NY is comprised of glacial detritus. A serpentine facies outcrops on Staten Island and the artinite and hydromagnesite are secondary minerals deposited in fracture surfaces due to weathering.
