A former U-Mo mine.

Mineralization is primary and secondary uranium minerals with gangue species in lenses and pods in Artillery Sandstone. Ore fills intraformational channels and scours with the upper 30 feet of the Shinarump and lower 60 feet of the Petrified Forest members of the Triassic Chinle formation. Ore tends to occur in depressions. The orebody is surrounded by light brown to yellowish-brown alteration halos which cut across the normal purple and grey beds of the host rock types.
