One of the larvikite quarries in Tvedalen and the larvikite complex most rich in minerals. Several larger vugs have occurred in the last years, beside mineral-rich pegmatites.
Owned by the 'A/S Granit' company.

    Habit: Mica/chlorite like habit
    Colour: Brown
    Description: Samples of bastnäsite-(Ce) where found in large masses in calcite to 20-30 cm in diameter, looking like brown calcite, spring 2009. Material was analysed by Alf Olav Larsen.

    Habit: Sphenoidal, commonly twinned.
    Colour: Colourless to white
    Description: In July 2009 a considerable amount of behoite samples where collected in a pegmatite at level 1. Most crystals are twinned, and crystals up to 4 mm where found. Some crystals are slightly etched.

    Description: In May 2007 a few extremly rich samples of berborite was collected, with up to several hundred millimeter sized crystals on some of the samples. In Desember 2007, berborite was found again, in a larger crystal in "spreustein".

  • Eudialyte Group
    Description: Large masses of probably several mambers of the eudialyte group was found in Jan. 2008. Most of the material looked very much like ferrokentbrooksite from other localities in the area. Other parts where much lighter, perhaps a kentbrooksite?

    Description: "Crystals" to 4 cm, "frozen" into feldspar, of a pink carbonate, surounded by manganese oxides, was found in Desember 2007. Analyse of this carbonate, done by Alf Olav Larsen gave this result; ca 65% MnCO3, 30% FeCO3 and 5% CaCO3.

    Description: Nice micro crystalls of a dark brow to black tourmaline-group mineral was found in the spring of 2007. Schörl is the only tourmaline reported from this area, so this tourmaline is most likely the same.
