(Mine Jaune, Grandfontaine-les-Minières, Région de Framont - Grandfontaine, Schirmeck, Vallée de la Bruche, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France)
Ancient iron mine, abandoned in 1864 and re-worked for a short period of time at the end of the first world war. The mine is famous within the Vosges Mts for the historical finds of fine betrandite and phenakite specimens, originating from pegmatoidic inclusions in the host rocks on the upper levels, and dating back to the 19th century. More recent finds of these minerals, as well as of beryl and of topaz (of which only one specimen exists) have not been reported.
