Hanawa mine, Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture, Tohoku Region, Honshu Island, Japan

Metamorphosed bedded (sedimentary) manganese ore hosted in Paleozoic chert, about 1 km from a granodiorite intrusion. Mine closed.
(NB: Not to be confused with the Hanawa manganese mine near Kiryu city, Gunma prefecture, nor with the Hanawa Zn-Pb-Cu mine in Tayama, Iwate prefecture.)
