Gravel quarry, Plieskendorf, Calau, Lübbenau, Brandenburg, Germany

(Kiesgrube, Plieskendorf, Calau, Lübbenau, Brandenburg, Deutschland)

Pleistocenic gravels consisting of both material deposited during the last ice age and alluvial gravels deposited by the Elbe river in its ancient bed. Except for the flint, the minerals probably originate from Bohemia and southern Saxony.
The gravels are exposed in a quarry near Plieskendorf, located 3 km SE of Calau and about 15 km south of Lübbenau.
