The Laouni West intrusion forms one of four small intrusive massifs regrouped into the "Pan-African Laouni igneous Complex". The age of the intrusions ranges between 600 and 540 Ma. The ortho-ultrabasic cumulates are cyclic and show a succession of olivine-, chromite-, bronzite- and plagioclase-rich cumulates.
