In calcite, granite pegmatite, and crystalline limestone.

The deposit was explored for uranium mineralization in 1954 and 1955 by Desmont Mining Corporation, Limited.

The deposit is exposed by pits, strippings, & trenches extending over a distance of 1150 meters.

    Habit: hexagonal tabular crystals (up to 4-5 mm) and lenticular or irregular masses
    Colour: maroon-red, brownish red to brown, pink or grey; smooth to porcelain-like texture. Generally opaque with waxy to resinous lustre but also may almost be transparent and resemble titanite
    Description: Generally as partial crusts on smoky quartz and clinopyroxene
