A former lode Au (minor)-Ag-Pb-Cu-W (trace) mine located in sec. 28, T16N, R9E (MD), about 2½ miles SE of Nevada City and about 5 miles E of Grass Valley. Owned by the Lava Cap Gold Mining Corporation.
Mineralization is hosted in the Calaveras Complex (argillite). There are two main ore zones: 1 under lava capping of Banner 100 feet depth; other part of the Central Mine.
