    Habit: masses with subconchoidal fracture
Colour: dull nearly opaque, egg shell white
    Fluorescence: non fluorescent
Description: Huntite is soluable in water and has formed above the water table in reaction of serpentine and carbonic acids. The perceived rarity at the site is likely due to weathering, misidentification with magnesite and collectors in the past "cleaning" specimens found, prior to examination. fresh exposure collecting reveals Huntite occuring in plentiful amounts at Cedar Hill.

Habit: monoclinic, massive and extremely fine grained with a platy structure (EPMA)
Colour: various shades of green to almost white
    Fluorescence: none
Description: Lizardite was first described in Pennsylvania in the early 1960's at The Cedar Hill Quarry, by Dr. D. M. Lapham of the USGS, whom also later recorded a positive finding at Wood's Mine, Lancaster Co., PA. It was determined that Lizardite, a common occurring species at Cedar Hill, was likely to be found throughout the Serpentine deposits in Pennsylvania.
