Unique locality of Cl-bearing minerals.
Outcrops of a scapolite-bearing rock that occurs in three 0.3 - 3 m thick shear zones in a gabbro-anorthosite, located south of Øvrevatnet lake and northwest of the Eliasvatnet lake, west of the village of Nusfjord at Flakstadøya in Lofoten.
Cl-rich amphibole, with garnet, plagioclase and Ba-, Ti-, Cl-rich biotite in shear zone in 1.8 Gy old noritic granulites.
The Cl-rich amphibole belongs to an amphibolite facies assemblage that replaced the granulite facies during shear deformation associated with the infiltration of a Cl-/Ba-rich fluid.
