A former W mine located in secs. 4, 9 & 15, T7S, R30E, MDM, 3.6 km (2.2 miles) W of Scheelite and E of Lower Morgan Lake (on the steep W shoulder of Mt Tom), in the Sierra Nevada, on National Forest wilderness land (John Muir Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in limestone, hornfels, and quartz diorite. The ore body is irregular with a near vertical dip, depth-to-bottom of 106.68 meters, width of 12.19 meters and a length of 30.48 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included a contact zone. The Greene ore body at depth was smaller than at the surface. Constriction may only be local. The Stevens ore body 170 feet E of the Greene body is 200 feet long and 20 to 90 feet wide. Quartz diorite is variable, a coarse-grained variety appears intrusive, but medium- and fine-grained varieties may represent altered volcanic rocks. Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 7 (Bishop).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of an 800 foot adit and an inclined winze 190 feet deep. A 2-compartment vertical shaft was sunk near the adit portal with crosscuts on 2 levels. Another adit and open pit are at the Stevens ore body.

Production statistics: Years: 1944-1945: accurate - 3 weight per cent WO3.

Ore low-grade on bottom level. Little production from the Stevens ore body since it contained only 0.5% WO3.
