Located approximately 29kms due West of Sydney.
This quarry has probably contributed more crushed rock (blue metal) for road and building construction in the Sydney region than any other similar locality.
Quarrying first commenced around the early 1820s and ceased operations around 2010. The quarry has now been, and is being, redeveloped for housing and light industry.
The quarry is famous for its world class Prehnite.
