hałda "Skalny", Łaziska, rejon Katowic, Górny Śląsk, Polska

Already recultivated, burnt coal-mining dump. Supergene, fumarolic (so-called para- or pseudofumarolic) and high-temperature (pyrometamorphic) mineral associations were observed. Some "minerals" may be of "technogenic" origin. The researches of "Skalny" dump were performed in connection with Mag. Thesis (unpublished) on Institute of Geochemistry, Mineralogy and Petrology, Faculty of Geology, Warsaw University, Poland. This high dump stands for a potential home for predatory birds.

Some minerals ("krasnoselskite", "krasnogorite", likely hannebachite and possibly halite) are of technogenic origin. Hannebachite may form in a human-driven desulphurization process due to the use of lime in the purpose of fire extinguishing.
