The Ore- ,Industrial mineral-and Natural Stone database of the Norges Geologiske Undersøkelse contains an entry "Velfjord".

Abstract:
A considerable zone of marbles occurs in the area between Hommelstø in Velfjord and the Tosenfjord to the south-east. The marbles are surrounded by gneisses and schichsts of sedimentary origin, ultramafic rocks of tectonic origin, and diorite/gabbro of Caledonian age.
Most of the marbles have a white colour, especially in the eastern parts, but locally also blue marble occurs.
During the period 1870-1970 several efforts to exploit these marbles for building purposes failed due to the generally low quality of the rock. The generally coarse-grained structure makes the rock less suitable for building applications.
The blue marbles might have a limited use for building purposes, while the white marbles are of great interest for industrial purposes, for instance as filler in paper.
