An underground copper mine consisting of two shafts and thirteen levels. Exploration began in 1902 and after promising finds, the Ojibway Mining Company was organized in June 1907. The mine produced approximately 50,000 pounds of refined copper before closing in 1913 after depleting company funds. In 1941, the mine was bought by Calumet and Hecla but no further work was done. Nice minerals, including copper crystals, silver, quartz with green chlorite inclusions, and rare amethyst can be found here.
Note: the coordinates for Ojibway are placed at the No. 1 Shaft. The No. 2 Shaft is approximately 1,000 feet to the southeast.
