A former Cu-Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 6, T18N, R13E, MDM, 2.2 km (1.4 miles) NNW of English Mountain (coordinates of record), on the W shore of Jackson Lake (13 miles E of Graniteville; adjoins the English Mountain Gold Mine). The property comprises 40 acres or 105 acres (2 MRDS files). Operated by H. C. Schroeder (estate). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS file #10007668 presents geographic coordinates of -120.55853, 39.45795, stating that this mine is ΒΎ mile S of Jackson Lake versus along its W shore. The W shore location has all the indications on the topo map of a mining activity (dead end road at several structures). There is a large, geometric shaded area from the SE shore of the lake SSE-ward (probable claims).
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in diabase. The ore body is 15.24 meters wide and 304.8 meters long. Deposit is Cu-bearing gossan. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 5 (Northern Sierra Nevada and Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 1,000 feet of drifts and crosscuts, one 500 foot drift along strike and another 300 feet long above it.
No production was reported.
Analytical data results: Pyrrhotite-pyrite assayed at 5% Cu, 45.9% Fe and 27.7% S. The pyrrhotite-marcasite assayed at 1.3% Cu, 51.4% Fe and 28.3% S.
