A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in secs. 16, 20 & in the NW¼NW¼ (estimated) sec. 21, T16N, R11E, MDM, 2.8 km (1.8 miles) SSW of Graniteville, on the divide between Poorman Creek on the W and the South Fork Poorman Creek on the E (5 miles NE of Dutch Flat), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is . NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10007640 presents MRDS file #10164455 as a related file. There is no apparent relationship with that locality (Champion Mine) with this locality other than they are in the same township.

Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
