Comments
Lizardite was first described in Pennsylvania in the early 1960's at The Cedar Hill Quarry, by Dr. D. M. Lapham of the USGS, whom also later recorded a positive finding at Wood's Mine, Lancaster Co., PA. It was determined that Lizardite, a common occurring species at Cedar Hill, was likely to be found throughout the Serpentine deposits in Pennsylvania.
