Ranorosoa (1986, 1989) analyzes pink, green and brownish colored tourmaline found in the contactzone and she find these to be elbaite, one an elbaite with 2,44wt% MnO.
The brown colored gave this formula Na0,52Ca0,38)0,90(Li1,45Mn0,34Fe0,08Al1,77)3,64Al6,00(BO3)3,00Si6,00O18(OH3,63F0,09)3,72.
Simmons et al (2001) states that tourmalines from Antandrokomby are members of the schorl-elbaite series with significant Mg and Ca contents. | | Colour: | pink, green, brown | | Quality of samples: | Good crystals or rich for species - important (!) | | Rarity at site: | Common | | Confirmation | |
