Type Locality:Kjennerud Anthophyllite Prospect, Kjennerud, Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway is the type locality for Anthophyllite
Comments:Anthophyllite was first described as a new mineral by Schumacher(1801). The exact locality for the mineral was then kept a secret, said to be from the Kongsberg area. But Møller (1825) revealed that the locality is most probably the old mine at Kjennerudvann Lake (Raade 1996).Later anthophyllite also was prospected at Kjennerudvann for asbastos production
