Type Locality:	Maharitra (Manitra), Sahatany Valley, Sahatany Pegmatite Field (Mt Ibity area), Vakinankaratra Region, Antananarivo Province, Madagascar is the type locality for Bityite
Comments:	The typematerial of bityite was found in a pegmatite dike situated about 300 m N of the Maharitra workings (Behier (1960) Found on tourmaline or quartz
Habit:	pseudohexagonal barrelshaped aggregates with curved top (polysyntetic twins)up to 2 mm long; fine lamelles
Colour:	white; whith-yellowish
