Comments:From my personal mineral experience and my specimens from this site, the garnets appear to be almandine. Small crystals are considered rare and a lucky find, so these large crystals (up to over 1") are probably the best from the locale.
Habit:crude dodecahedral
Colour:very dark red/black
UV Fluorescence:none
Quality of samples:Good crystals or rich for species - important (!)
Rarity at site:Very Rare
