Taramite from
Bratthagen 1, Lågendalen, Hedrum, Larvik, Vestfold, Norway
Locality type: | Road Cutting | |
Classification | ||
---|---|---|
Species: | Taramite | |
Formula: | Na(CaNa)(Mg3Al2)(Al2Si6O22)(OH)2 | |
Comments: | Piilonen et al. (2012) list taramite as a mineral found in Bratthagen-type pegmatites (Bratthagen I; Bratthagen II and Lysebo). The text, however does not reveal from which of these three localities taramite were verified. Given the geological environment ( alkaline intrusives), any taramite root name group mineral would probably be ferro/ferri dominant, which is also indicated by the association with hastingsite/ferro-pargasite. | |
