Carrière du puy de Vivanson, Perpezat, Issoire, Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France
Active quarry in the Puy de Vivanson cinder cone. Puy de Vivanson is a relatively young (>150 ka) hawaiitic edifice belonging to the Monts-Dore Sancy stratovolcano. The scoria and the crosscuting dike contain numerous thermometamorphosed crustal xenoliths. Fumarolic mineralization is common in some of the cinder.
