Other/historical names associated with this locality:
Bungalow Mine; Castle Creek Mine
A polymetallic mine near Park City. It was developed by several thousand feet of workings on both sides of a small ridge. Ore was contained as sulfide and quartz pods along shear zones in granite. Around 250 tons of ore were produced.
The USGS topo map shows one of the adits of the mine labeled as the "Bungalow Mine". This is due to its proximity to the Castle Creek Mining company's camp which was locally known as the Bungalow.
Note: Huntting (1956) lists this both as a distinct mine, and a group of mines including others. From examination of the workings, this should be considered its own mine.
A lead-silver mine on Castle Mountain. It worked mineralized quartz lenses 1/2" to 18" wide and 2" to 30' long along planes of schistosity in shale and limestone. Development includes 4 adits, 2 in ore, 1 is 155' long.
Note: The USGS Map of the area labels the lower crosscut of this mine as the "Bungalow Mine" due to its proximity to the Castle Creek Mining co.'s camp which was called the Bungalow.
