An elevated sea stack that was leveled by quarrying and no longer exists, with the site covered by a retirement home. Late Jurassic blueschist was obtained there and used to construct the Coquille River Jetty in Bandon, where samples can be seen (but not collected). The blueschist was part of a tectonic mélange formed in subduction zone, and metamorphosed under high-pressure, low-temperature conditions.

ID: 2908902
Terrace, pediment, and lag gravels

Age: Pleistocene (0 - 2.588 Ma)

Description: Unconsolidated deposits of gravel, cobbles, and boulders intermixed and locally interlayered with clay, silt, and sand. Mostly on terraces and pediments above present flood plains.
