A copper mine located about 1 mile NW of Mt Washington and about 3 miles NW of Baltimore. Started 1845 and closed 1880. Reopened during the period 1905. Owned by the Bare Hills Mining Co. Host rock is hornblende gneiss. Produced 32,500 tons of 18% Cu. Workings featured a 600 foot shaft, later deepened to 900 feet.
