Before adding new minerals to the database, especially those which have recently gained IMA approval, be sure to check the database to ensure that it has not been posted already with just an IMA number (eg IMA98.024)
The simplest way to search is to use the element search for minerals containin the elements for your new mineral, and make sure that nothing with the same or similar formula is listed in the IMA-numbered minerals.
You'll have to check other properties such as crystallography to ensure that the IMA numbered mineral is indeed the same, but if it is then do not add a new entry, rename the IMA entry to the correct name.
